Farewell-2024-Date!

Everyone loves to celebrate the last remaining days of the year in a festive mode, sharing joy & happiness with their loved ones. And as a non-employed 21-year-old, what other way is there to do that other than going on a cute café date with your best friend? 😋



So, me and my friend Anu decided to do a little café-exploring in our area, and we stumbled upon the perfect place for our wallet-friendly date. It is called the "G Lounge", which is situated in Dalupatha, Negombo.


As we stepped in, we were welcomed with an aroma of warm coffee & desserts. The interior was simple yet modern, and we spotted a separate place with a pink cushioned bench with a floral background that was designed to snap cute pictures. With that in mind, we went to order our stuff. After looking through different varieties of dessert, drinks & meal options, we decided to go with a plate of Ramyeon, a Brownie with vanilla ice cream topping, a Green Apple Bubble Shake for me, & a Caramel one for her. As we sat down & waited for our order, we chatted for a bit, catching up with each other's lives.

The Bubble Shakes were something I've never tried before, and it was really yummy. It sort of reminded me of the "Ice packets" we used to be obsessed with as kids. I'd rate it as 8/10. 

For the Ramyeon, we were glad that we went with level 2 of spicy-ness, otherwise we definitely wouldn't have been able to finish it without exhaling fire😅 And the waiter was kind enough to provide us forks because neither of us knew how to handle chopsticks. It was also our first time trying Ramyeon, and it was a bit pricey in our opinion, so I'll give it a 7/10.


The Brownie was obviously really sweet and as a person with a huge sweet tooth, it's a 9/10 for me. My slightly sour, cold green apple shake really balanced the weight of the other two. 

After finishing our meal, we didn't forget to snap some pictures as keepsakes of this day.



It's safe to say that we both enjoyed the evening we spent in the cozy atmosphere of the cafe. The food was good, the staff were very friendly & assisted us well. Our hearts were full just as much as our tummies were. If anyone's looking for a place to hang out with friends & family, this place is definitely recommended!


It felt refreshing to catch up with my friend after a long time, as we both are busy with newfound adult stuff. It's important to reconnect with loved ones even though we get occupied with other things most of the time. As we ended our last meet-up for the year, we cherished all the memories we created with hopes of making new ones in 2025💗

Unproductive Days

  As a university student, I hardly have free time to waste. But when I do, I'd like to do nothing & just lay around. Some might say you should find a useful hobby to do in your free time. But I think it's okay to just do nothing sometimes. Once a week, I take a day to make myself into a sloth. When I end up sleeping 'till the afternoon, it automatically becomes an unproductive day. Because after I wake up, I have no energy to do anything even though I just got hours of sleep. I mostly just lay on my bed, on the couch, and sometimes even on the floor, watching random videos on YouTube. I mostly listen to crime podcasts. I know I've had enough of screen time when my eyes start to hurt. Then I switch to my adult coloring book while listening to music.  Sometimes I do karaoke, but I get bored really quick. How I survived my first job

One of the crucial things you start to worry about when stepping into adulthood is money. The first big-girl  job I had was in February of last year. After lounging around and doing aimless things after my A/Ls for almost a year, I felt the need to be a responsible adult and try to take care of my things at least until university started.  So, I went to an interview for a bookshop near me and luckily, they hired me right away because they were short on staff. Under the supervision of an old worker, I started my training right away. The work was pretty easy & I worked from 9 am to 7 pm. In the first week, I worked as a sales assistant, and I had to learn about all the types of stationaries & books that were available in the store. Then I became a trainee cashier in a short time.
