D - Day - the movie (of AGUST D)
One of my favorite memories from last year is being able to watch the concert documentary of my favorite artist Agust D, also known as SUGA from BTS. He's a powerful rapper, a genius songwriter & a producer who's known to create heartfelt music with deep meanings & express raw emotional aspects of life & mental health struggles. The movie is about his concert tour 'D-day' which is based on his first album 'D-day' & his previous projects 'Agust D' & 'D-2'.
The decision to go to the movie came at the last moment because I didn't have anyone to go with. Luckily I found a friend through Instagram who was also planning to go to the movie alone. So I booked my seat next to her. We went to the PVR cinema theater at One Gall Face Mall. I was so excited because I'd been wanting to watch the movie so bad, and this was the first time I got to meet my friend, Sayuri. We bought some snacks for the movie & went inside the theater & to my utmost surprise, there were only a few people inside it. We sat down & chatted 'till the movie started.
The lights went off, and I was practically ready to jump out of my seat because of how excited I was. The movie started and everyone started cheering so loudly. We screamed & sang along, even though we didn't even know Korean. One of the key moments was when BTS members themselves appeared as guest artists & the entire theater went crazy. It was the ultimate fan-girl experience!
The experience was truly unforgettable. I was really emotional at the end because Agust D has been my biggest inspiration in life, and seeing the output of his hard work made me so proud as a fan who values his art dearly. Watching this gave me a big source of determination to work towards my dreams no matter what happens.
As the day came to an end, we left the theater with our hearts full. We walked around the mall for a bit and even did some shopping. It was amazing how well I was able to connect with my friend Sayuri, even though that was literally the first day we met. We talked as if we had known each other for a long time. It always warms my heart how shared interests can bring people together, especially regarding music even when we don't know the language. We bid each other goodbye as we parted ways, holding a lot of special memories in our hearts.
